The Molecular Virology laboratory undertakes a range of tests. The Nucleic Acid Tests for blood bank donor screening are FDA approved and specifically licensed for Blood Banks. Standard algorithms with associated re-entry protocols are followed for reporting. The laboratory also provides FDA approved tests critical for screening Human Cell, Tissues and Cellular Tissue-Based Products (HCT/P), and donor testing for solid organ transplants.
Synapse holds the latest technology which allows for random access molecular tests with immediate results. Real time PCR, probe methodology and additional unique multiplexing molecular technologies allow for highly sensitive and faster bacterial and viral detection.
